Our story
Black cat creations began after I decided to take early retirement and start doing what I really loved, which is art, design, sewing and creating. It started with one bag made in a Klimt fabric design - with colours that I liked and in a style that was easy to use. It has developed into bags with handy practical features and more prints that are beautiful, bright and make you smile every time I look at them. I needed new bag for outdoor swimming and so made one using the same lovely fabric, with handy pockets for wet and dry areas, and easy to carry backpack straps.
The more I made the more waste I could see with fabric remnants, so I started using those up and now have an upcycled fabric range, using up material that would have gone to landfill, instead making them into unique, one off pieces.

Black cat creations is a home based sewing and crafting business inspired by the beauty of my two black cats, Banshee and Binx.

I create everyday items like bags using beautiful and unique fabrics, which feel like you're wearing and using a piece of art.
Upcyling
I love creating new items but hate the waste that is involved in sewing and crafting. So many of my items used upcycled off cuts that would normally go to landfill. This in turn means that each of the upcycled pieces is truly unique.
